• Our Imperial Diesel electric generators are built with very heavy duty water cooled Imperial Diesel engines and Industrial Quality Newage-Stamford generators. The Imperial engine is a German design that is manufactured in China and then installed and tested at our factory by American Amish and Yankee technicians. This approach allows us to sell reliable and long lasting Diesel electric generators for the lowest possible prices.

  Diesel fuel is much less flammable than gasoline. Gasoline is dangerously flammable! Diesel fuel can be stored for years, gasoline gets stale after a few months. Diesel fuel is the same thing as home heating oil, allowing you to get heat and electricity from one fuel. Diesel engines run 3 to 4 times longer than gasoline engines on each gallon of fuel. An Imperial Diesel 8 kW generator will run about 2.5 hours per gallon of diesel fuel with "normal household use". A 12 kW generator will run about 2 hours per gallon with "normal household use".

• Diesel engines last much longer than gasoline engines. Our high quality water cooled Imperial Diesel engines have proven themselves reliable during many years of operation on Amish farms and shops as well as in our generator sets. You can expect at least 12,000 hours of operation before your Imperial Diesel engine needs an overhaul. That's at least 1½ YEARS of continuous 24 hours per day operation! All maintenance and repair parts are readily available and reasonably priced.

• The Newage generator used on your Imperial Diesel Electric Generator Set normally lasts 150,000 hours, giving you a complete trouble free electric power generating system.

• Your Imperial Diesel Electric Generator Set from Independent Power Systems is complete with gauges and a safety shutdown system. Gauges include amp meter for battery charging current, hour meter, engine oil pressure gauge, and engine temperature gauge. Safety shutdown will occur if there is low engine coolant level, low engine oil pressure, or high engine temperature.

• Your Imperial Diesel Electric Generator Set comes to you thoroughly tested and ready to work for you. You will need a clean fuel supply and a starting battery. You may purchase a fuel tank and other accessories from us if you like. We recommend installation in an engine room such as a small shed with an exhaust pipe and fresh air ventilation.
